FlightDex is on Google Play New
FlightDex is out on Android. Track every flight live. Keep every flight for good. Bring your history over from Flighty, byAir, myFlightradar24, OpenFlights or App in the Air, with every flight accounted for. Share a flight as a link your family can open in any browser, with no booking code, seat or full name on it.
Free to start, with no ads, no account and no location permission. Pro adds alerts with quiet hours, delay predictions, the live map, airport boards and expense export.

Find a flight by its route, a check-in reminder, and your flights in your calendar New
Coming in the next app update. Know where you are flying but not the flight number? On the add screen, choose By route, enter the two airports and the date, from yesterday up to about 11 months ahead, and FlightDex lists that day’s flights on the route. Tap yours to add it. The free plan has 1 route search a day and Pro has 10; a route and day already searched in the last 24 hours is answered without using one. Each search shows one page of flights: for a flight that is not listed, search by its number.
The same update adds a check-in reminder, on every plan. 24 hours before the scheduled departure of a flight you are on, FlightDex reminds you that it leaves in 24 hours and that, if you haven’t checked in yet, your airline’s app or website will show when you can. It is on by default, with its own switch on the You tab, and it is set on your phone, so nothing leaves the phone to make it. It is not sent for flights you are watching or following.
It also lets FlightDex add your flights to your calendar, on every plan. Turn on Add flights to my calendar on the You tab and choose a calendar, or On this phone only, and the upcoming flights you are taking go into it, kept up to date with their times, terminal, gate and status from what the app already has on your phone. An event never carries your booking code, your name or your seat, and nothing is sent to FlightDex to write it. Edit or delete one of its events and FlightDex leaves it alone from then on. It is off until you turn it on, and the phone asks for calendar access only then.

Sharing a flight is free again Improved
Anyone can share a flight as a link, on the free plan too. When the flight is on the free plan, opening the link refreshes its status, within limits, and the page says how long ago it was updated. And when the person sharing has Pro, anyone following the flight in the app gets its alerts, whatever their own plan, once their phone allows FlightDex notifications.

Import from myFlightradar24, OpenFlights and App in the Air New
FlightDex now reads the export file from myFlightradar24, OpenFlights and App in the Air, alongside Flighty and byAir. App in the Air closed in 2024: if you saved the data.txt export it sent you, here is how to bring those flights in. As with the other apps, you see what happens to every flight in the file before anything is saved, and importing is free.

A share page worth opening Improved
The page someone opens from a shared flight link has been rebuilt. It now draws a real map of the route, names the airline where FlightDex has a name for it, names the cities, gives the distance, and shows the baggage belt once the flight has landed. The aircraft points the way it is really going, taken only from what was reported, and is drawn as a plain dot when nothing says which way that is. A flight that landed without a reported position no longer says it is waiting for one.

Bring your flight history from Flighty or byAir New
Export your flights from Flighty or byAir and import the file into FlightDex. Before anything is saved you see what happens to every row: a new flight, a match with one you already have, or not imported, with the reason. Imported flights go into your Passport, and importing is free. The steps for each are on Flighty for Android and switching from byAir.

Units and clocks that follow your phone Fixed
Distances read in miles or kilometres once, without a doubled unit. The destination’s weather follows your phone’s temperature setting, so a UK phone sees Celsius. Every clock in the app follows your 12- or 24-hour setting, and two dates that showed as raw numbers now read as dates.

This site serves its own fonts Improved
The fonts on flightdex.app now come from flightdex.app. Opening a page no longer sends you to another company’s servers to fetch them.

Airline names in Insights Improved
Passport Insights now names the airlines FlightDex has a name for, instead of showing their two-letter codes, and every row has room for its name: a long airline name wraps onto a second line instead of being cut off, at any text size.

The aircraft before yours New
The flight screen now shows the inbound aircraft: where the plane that will fly your flight is coming from, how late it is running, and when that was last checked. When nothing is known it shows nothing, rather than calling the flight on time.

Sharing, and a page of straight answers New
The site now covers what the app has grown into: share a flight as a link that opens in any browser, follow a friend’s flight with a “landing soon” alert for whoever is doing the pickup (when the person sharing has Pro), and an app that says when it doesn’t know something instead of filling the gap with a zero.

The comparison page, rewritten Improved
“Compare” is now How we compare: fifteen questions worth asking of any flight tracker, and our answer to each. We took down the table that named other apps — those change without telling anyone, and a stale comparison is worse than none. Every claim on the new page is about FlightDex, and checkable.

Feedback, right from the site New
You can now report a bug or suggest a feature straight from the site, and reach the team at a proper address, [email protected]. Every message is read.

A calmer, faster site Improved
Refreshed the web experience with gentle motion, more depth, and cleaner in-app screenshots, and made the images about 90% lighter, so pages load fast on any connection.
