FlightDex — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FlightDex app and related services (the "Service"), operated by FlightDex ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

FlightDex helps you track flights and view flight status, estimates, and travel history. The Service is provided for personal, informational convenience only.

Not an official source. Flight status, times, gates, predictions, and other information are provided on a best-effort basis, may come from third parties, and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. FlightDex is not an airline, airport, or official source of flight information. Always confirm critical travel details with your airline or airport. You are responsible for your own travel decisions, and we are not liable for missed flights, connections, or other losses arising from reliance on the Service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract (at least 13, or the minimum age in your country). You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Account → Delete account).

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully; attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data providers; scrape or resell data obtained through the Service; or use the Service to infringe others' rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk or legal exposure.

4. Sharing features

If you share a flight or follow another user, you are responsible for what you choose to share. Shared links expose limited flight information (flight number, route, times, gate, progress) and exclude your booking code, seat, and full name. Do not share information you don't have the right to share.

5. Payments and subscriptions

The core flight-tracking features are currently free. If we offer paid features or subscriptions in the future, the price, billing period, and renewal terms will be shown clearly before you purchase, and purchases will be handled through the Google Play billing system subject to Google's terms. Any auto-renewing subscription will renew until cancelled, and you can cancel through Google Play. We will disclose renewal and cancellation terms at the point of purchase.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by FlightDex and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Your travel data remains yours; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you (for example, to store and display your flights).

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including Google Firebase and FlightAware). Your use of those components may also be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT FLIGHT INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, TIMELY, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FlightDex WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM MISSED FLIGHTS OR CONNECTIONS, INACCURATE INFORMATION, OR YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS OR USD $10. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the Service, or your access, if you violate these Terms or where necessary to protect the Service or comply with law.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the updated Terms and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the courts there for any disputes, unless local mandatory law provides otherwise.
